A bright, creamy and well-knit Champagne, with a smoke-tinged, minerally underpinning and flavors of lemon meringue pie, biscuit and candied ginger. The spiced finish lingers. Drink now through 2019. (AN)
A full complement of toasty, autolyzed yeast moves to center stage here, yet this creamy, finely bubbled offering comes with a quiet undercurrent of mildly apple-like fruit as well. The result is a fairly friendly, moderately rich, easy-to-taste Brut that, while properly dry, is not in the least austere, and, when measured against its many non-vintaged Champenoise cousins, it proves to be a bit more complete than most. It is a solid, well-conceived Brut that will not disappoint.
Based on 2012 and 45% reserve wines of 2011 and a bit of 2010, the white-golden colored NV Brut Classic is very clear and elegant on the nose; it offers bright fruit aromas and fresh lemon flavors, along with herbal aromas. Light, pure and finesse-full on the palate, this is a pretty mineral and refreshing cuvée with good substance in the finish. A delicious aperitif. (SR)
Mid gold with tiny bubbles. Very firm and satisfying. Savoury and spreads across the palate. This is full bodied enough to drink with food, I'd have thought. Very substantial without being at all heavy.
