If you haven't had the tiny production Champagne, this is a rare opportunity to do so. They only make 14 barrels of this wine, and it is the last of the production from their oldest vines, which were destroyed in the hail of 2003. We only received 36 bottles of this, which is entirely 2002 although not labeled as a vintage. It is composed of 50% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir and 25% Meunier that is barrel fermented, but not aged in oak. They bottle in February at Aspasie, so this wine saw less than six months in barrel. It is incredibly rich, powerful Champagne, but maintains its freshness and minerality quite effortlessly. If you have been a fan Tarlant's cuvee Louis in the past, you will do well to snatch this up!
