*Cellar Selection* This is a big, dry, plush, ripe and very fine Cabernet, but it’s an infant in serious need of time. There are numbing tannins that frame deliciously sweet black cherry, blackberry and herb flavors. Try after 2010.
The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is the tightest of this quartet as well as the most structured. It appears to be in a middle-aged state that is no longer primary, but the secondary aromas have not yet emerged. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by hints of new saddle leather, cassis, and spice. Medium to full-bodied. (RP)
