Delicious display of Pinot, with its smooth, fleshy texture and complex array of ripe plum, raspberry and black cherry fruit. It turns silky on the midpalate and finishes with a wonderful array of flavors. (JL)
Showing more of the strawberry, cherry, vanilla mix so prevalent in the Williams Selyem clan this time, this mid-density bottling is on the oaky, dusty side of the mix in both nose and mouth. Its attractive, velvety textured flavors drift slightly towards cocoa with a trim of acidy firmness at the finish. Still there is more to like here than not.
(mostly declassified juice from the Russian River Valley, including some fruit from the new Drake Road estate vineyard in Guerneville, planted in 1999) Deep red-ruby. Wild red berries, chocolate and pepper on the bright nose. At once fleshy and juicy, with nicely integrated acidity leavening the sweet berry flavors. Not complex but offers very good fruit and finishes with ripe tannins. (ST)
Starts off cedary and oaky, and as it warms reveals rich cherry, vanilla and spice notes. Has a good fruity intensity in the mouth, and feels supple, with a tannic finish.
