Young, alive and loaded with pure fruit redolent of fresh cherries and strawberries with a creamy, toasted vanilla chaser, the nose of this superbly crafted, mid-density Pinot finds an exacting para-llel in the plush, ripe energetic flavors that follow. Firm but not tangy to finish and seasoned by a bit of cinnamon-like spice in the aftertaste, this one delivers a lot to like at the price.
Lots to admire in this smooth, broad-flavored red, with a tasty core of plum and raspberry, touches of cherry and spice, finishing with a stewed plum aftertaste. Lively acidity gives it excellent structure and a long finish. (JL)
Bright and exuberant red pinot fruit that already displays an initial hint of development introduces ripe, succulent and juicy flavors that offer good punch and a lovely touch of natural sweetness plus a hint of oak on the finish. This is delicious with good depth and persistence but unfortunately, there is also a hint of volatile acidity that detracts from the overall impression.
Deep ruby-red. Expressive aromas of black cherry, wild red berries, bitter chocolate, cardamom and sweet herbs. Bright, fresh and rather oaky, with racy acids giving the wine good cut. Finishes with a firm tannic spine and a repeating note of wild berries. Boasts good persistence but comes across as tougher today than the Sonoma County bottling. This needs 18 to 24 months of additional bottle aging. (ST)
