The dense purple-tinged, full-bodied 2003 Syrah Walker Vine Hill reveals good acidity along with a big, sweet, rich nose of espresso roast, blackberries, and grilled steak. Although just beginning to close down, it should last for 10-12 years. (RP)
Exhibits a rich, plush, juicy core of vibrant blackberry, black cherry, fresh earth and hints of anise and sage. Tightly wound and sharply focused. Finishes with ripe tannins and a burst of dark berry flavors. (JL)
Bright ruby. Aromas of crushed blueberry and blackberry, licorice and sweet oak. Dense but not heavy, with strong flavors of dark fruits. A real black hole of a wine; if the Keltie is atypical, this is very California [and] needs more time in the barrel. (ST)
