The 2004 Shiraz Angel’s Share is a hedonistic effort. A deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by a fruit-filled wine with a gorgeously complex nose of lead pencil shavings, charcoal, blackberries, and cassis. Medium to full-bodied, with admirable purity, balance, and the tell-tale opulence and voluptuous texture this estate’s wines all seem to possess, it should be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years.

Bright medium ruby. Sweet dark berries and a musky, porty ripeness on the nose, with espresso, licorice and fruity pepper nuances. Fat and creamy in the mouth, with blackberry, creme de cassis, dark cherry and mocha flavors. Holds together nicely on the finish; it's plenty ripe but retains spicy lift and focus.

Ripe and plummy, with vibrant acidity giving the richness some balance. This one needs food to soften the tart edge, but it has a generous range of flavors and a distinct earthy tone mingling on the finish.
