Tasted from the Chateau reserves at the estate. Again, that barley sugar note comes through giving it a Barsac, harmonious with a little mandarin and some lemon curd. Still a little tight. The palate is balanced with ripe honeyed fruit, orange rind and a touch of Seville orange marmalade. Nice taut finish with good acidity, the mineralite compensating for a lack of depth. Very fine for the vintage. (NM)
Ultraclean, with apple, vanilla and honey aromas that follow through to a full-bodied palate, medium sweetness and a long, caressing finish. Delicate and balanced. (JL)
Pale copper colour. Round, very sweet indeed but with sufficient freshness and zip. Excellent for a 2002. Satin texture and even a hint of botrytis on the nose. Very exciting and nervy. 17.5/20 points (JR)
