91 points Robert Parker: "Sweet cherries, currants, and blacker fruits as well as hints of spice box and herbs jump from the glass of the medium ruby-colored 2004 Pinot Noir Rancho Santa Rosa. A nuanced, high brow, medium to full-bodied, delicately-styled Pinot, it possesses crisp raspberry, tart cherry, and blueberry fruit. One of the few Santa Rita Hills vineyards composed of limestone soil, it is planted with Clone 667. Drink it over the next 7-8 years." (08/06). 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "The vineyard is owned by Foley, which produces great Pinot, and what they all have in common is rich acidity, an uncommonly complete structure, and a clean purity of Pinot Noir fruit. This bottle is dry and fuller-bodied than Brewer-Clifton’s other Pinots, although it retains those lovely red stone fruits that are so elegant."
