The 2003 Petite Syrah Library Vineyard exhibits a deep purple color and a nose of creosote, scorched earth, blue and black fruits, minerals, and hints of pepper and white flowers. A rich wine from a vineyard adjacent to the library in St. Helena, it should be at its finest between 2008-2025. (RP)
Saturated ruby. Superripe aromas of black cherry and fruity Tellicherry pepper, with exotic suggestions of apricot and white flowers; high-toned and slightly port-like. Then sweet, exotic and penetrating. Finishes with big, ripe tannins. (ST)
