"Here's the hottest new thing in Napa Valley that you can't get your hands on. Let me be clear here, we're talking about the wine, not Kelly. This production is destined to be among Napa's finest as it is already boasting with luscious flavors rarely found even in the most overpriced trophies from Napa. The vineyard is located to the east and just up the hill from the legendary Eisele Vineyard, theoretically making this property the alluvial source of some of the best Cabernet vineyards in the World. Here are some facts to back up my humble opinions. 12 hillside acres are planted to clones 4, 8, and 337 with Jim Barbour as vineyard manager. Vines are organically farmed and the wine is made by consulting winemaker Celia Welch Masyczek at the Laird facility. This vintage hung out in very nice French Oak for 23 months and 447 cases were produced. The wine exhibits awesome purity and balance while effortlessly carrying the weighty mid-palate on a subtle web of acidity and silky tannin. Luscious flavors of blueberry, black cherry, briar and cassis are nurtured by mother earthieness and kissed by sweet oak, kind of like frosting on a chocolate cake.
