Deep ruby-red. Spicy black cherry lifted by minerals and pepper. Sweet, spicy and impressively concentrated, with firm minerality contributing to the impression of structure. Youthfully tight, tannic and backward, but this possesses a superb core of fruit and a sappy, peppery freshness that suggests it will develop well in bottle. (ST)
Two of my favorite Zinfandels include the 2005 Zinfandel Moore Earthquake Vineyard. It possesses the darkest ruby/purple color of these offerings as well as a beautiful perfume of blueberries, blackberries, flowers, pepper, and earth. This complete, rich, beautifully textured, super-long cuvee is one of the top successes of this vintage. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. (RP)
