Big, rich and full, with a lovely sweetness to the berry, black cherry and melted licorice flavors. Really spreads out on the back, finishing with substantial but suave dusty tannins." (May/June '08) The fruit for this dusty, opulent cabernet sauvignon comes from Napa's acclaimed Cohn Vineyard, which contributed the wine's distinctive Rutherford Dust character. Fruit from the adjacent Morisoli Vineyard added crushed berry notes to the wine. Blue fruit, chocolate gingerbread and ripe olive work together to create this wine's aromatic allure. Dark fruit flavors and lingering Rutherford Dust notes dominate the palate now, but the wine shows ample complexity that can develop with near term cellaring.
