In the same mold, with a classic, almost Old World savory character (certainly with a Paso Robles slant) ... Showing the ample creme de cassis, chocolate, seared meat and licorice-driven profile that’s common in this cuvee, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, yet stays lively and fresh, with no sense of weight or alcohol. Drinking beautifully now, it has silky, savory tannin on the finish, and will continue to dish out loads of pleasure through 2026. (JD)
Saturated ruby. Aromas of fresh red berries, anise and dried flowers. Sweet raspberry and candied cherry flavors are deep and rich (this is close to 16.5%) but surprisingly lively, with dusty tannins adding grip. A bright kick of smoky Indian spices adds energy to the long, juicy finish. (JR)
Big, ripe and intense. Firm and muscular, with complex cedar, blackberry and wild berry fruit that's well-proportioned, ending with good length and a dash of heat. (JL)
