Tasting Notes

According to Robert Parker: "One of my personal goals is to taste more wines from Bernard Chateau, the young proprietor and winemaker of Chateau Larruau. He produces intensely concentrated wine at this tiny estate." (Bordeaux Book, Third Edition) Michael Broadbent says: "Excellent but not very well known Margaux of extremely reliable quality." Larruau is three doors up from Palmer and two doors down from Margaux, a good neigborhood for sure. With 7.5 acres planted to 33% Merlot and 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, this estate only makes 1,000 cases a year.

This property should be classified. It has everything you want in a great tasting 2005.Won’t last long. Ripe and sweet.

She stole the show. In the last in-store tasting two wines were the hit of the party: the 2002 Malescot and this one. I love the Larruau because at $30 it’s a steal. Rich fruit on the nose and on the palate with lots of spice and nice round tannins.
