93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Pinot Noir Rocheux is quite different aromatically featuring more floral notes, spice, cherry, and raspberry. Layered and complex on the palate, it neatly conceals enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years. It should drink well from 2011 to 2019." (10/08) 91 points from Wine Enthusiast: "This wine is gorgeous from the moment the cork is pulled. Sweet fruit--berries, currants and jam--is perfectly matched to more subtle scents of sassafras and tobacco. Nicely woven together, this youthful wine coasts along on a magic carpet of seamless flavors, gently sliding into a lightly toasty finish with a lick of bacon fat. Though fairly soft, it seems like a good candidate to improve for 5 or 6 years." (10/1/2008) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark red. Perfumed aromas of ripe red berries, cherry, smoky minerals, baking spices, rose and anise. Broad, deeply flavored and intense, offering weighty cherry preserve flavors and building bitter chocolate and spice qualities. For all of its power this is surprisingly balanced, even elegant, and the tannins are completely absorbed by the sweet fruit. Finishes with building tannins and admirable lift and persistence. I'd give this some time in the decanter." (May/June 08)
