The late-released 2004 Pinot Noir Three Sisters Vineyard Sea Ridge Meadow (734 cases) shows gamey, meaty notes with hints of underbrush, gun flint, black cherry, and raspberry. It is rich, full-bodied, powerful, and quite long and heady. There is some tannin still to be resolved, but this wine should age nicely for at least a decade. Kudos to the Martinelli family, one of the great old winemaking families of Northern California. (They also produce exquisite apples as well.) (RP)
Dark red. Deep, powerful aromas of cherry, blackberry, musky herbs and fresh flowers. Creamy and rich, with intense dark berry flavors, suave oak spice and velvety tannins. For all that there's outstanding freshness here. Lush and sweet on the remarkably long finish, which provides outstanding palate coverage. (ST)
