One of the friendliest Ridge Zins we've tasted in a long time, this is exuberant and focused on fresh black cherry flavors. It has a cool, foresty feel to balance the tannins and their lasting spice. Give those tannins anything meaty, especially slow-smoked ribs.
Deep ruby with a bright rim. Raspberry, cherry and cinnamon on the nose. Brighter than the Paso Robles bottling, with nervier red berry flavors and notes of vanilla and bitter chocolate. A medium-bodied zinfandel with fully absorbed tannins and impressive finishing lift. Sexy wine, and drinking well right now.
Ripe and a bit chewy, but full-flavored, with wild berry cobbler aromas and youthful but firm dried cherry, cracked pepper and roasted dill flavors.
