Even at such a very young age, the latest Lewis Cabernet shows all of the fleshy richness and bold, well-ripened fruit for which the winery is known. It is not at all wanting for either extract or depth, and its pushy ripeness affords it a certain frontal aspect, but, make no mistake, this is a raw and decidedly undeveloped wine that very much needs to unwind. It is not to be drunk any time soon, and its real greatness lies a good seven to ten years down the line.
Powerful, ripe, fleshy and full-bodied, with rich, intense smoky currant, blackberry and black cherry fruit that's still chunky and rustic, yet well-focused and structured. Needs time. Best from 2010 through 2017.
