Tasting Notes

Here is a classic example of sensational Pinot from a talented newcomer that entered the market at the worst possible time. The wine rocks, but the market for new entries at $50 does not. Thanks to a special deal that we worked out directly with the owner, we now have this puppy at a fraction of the cost, with the savings passed along to you. This first release from the Wines of Redemption is an elegant 2007 Monterey County Pinot Noir. The fruit comes from the Mission Ranch in Monterey's Arroyo Seco AVA. Formerly the Mirrasou vineyard, the site, which borders the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA and shares its soil compositions and climates, now thrives under the management of Steve McIntyre. Enjoy cherry and cocoa powder aromas, great Pinot flavor and good acidity with just a hint of toasty vanilla spice. Don't over-analyze this one... just grab yourself a bottle and hurry back for the case purchase.

This is one of the best pinot noirs I've had in years. I like my wines to have unique flavors that continue through my palate. Redemption evolves as you drink it. We paired it with roasted chicken and vegetables, but I imagine it would taste great with cheese or even all by itself.
