This interpretation of a “modern dry gin” is spicy, potent and bright. It has an enticing grapefruit peel aroma. On the palate, alcohol heat leads, but then unfolds to show zingy citrus, anise and coriander. At 90 proof, there's plenty of alcohol presence, but it should stand up nicely to dilution in a long drink like a classic gin-and-tonic or Tom Collins. (KN)

I am loving the No 6. They market it as a gin that even non gin lovers will appreciate but there is plenty here for picky gin types. Subtle floral, spice, citrus and juniper flavors, all well balanced. I've not had a G&T yet but it did make a fine French 75 (gin version.) The finish is so incredibly smooth that I've been drinking it neat as opposed to mixed or on the rocks.

If you want something that packs more traditional punch, try the North Shore #11. i was reading the reviews here and one of them (McGrath) used "this is more about grace than force" to beautifully describe #11 and I think it applies even more so to the #6

I was supremely disappointed in this purchase. I drink quite a bit of gin and usually martinis and the "spice" in this gin was overwhelming. My wife, who also quite likes gin, had one and said I wish you had bought Hendricks or Tanqueray. Ouch.
