This impressive effort reveals more layers of flavor than most 2007s. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by notes of black currants, coffee, and white chocolate, medium to full body, surprising density and purity, and a very good finish. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. (RP)
Good deep red. Expressive aromas of currant, licorice, graphite and chocolatey oak complicated by hints of iron, leather and game. Broad, ripe and lush but quite dry; this tightened up in the glass. Offers very good texture for the vintage, though, finishing with substantial supple tannins that turned a bit tougher with aeration. I'd lay this down for a few years.
A concentrated wine, relying on its generous black currant juice fruit rather than the more reticent tannins. The wine is dominated by Cabernet juiciness, a burst of fruit in the glass.
Sweet plum and peach aromas follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and a solid core of fruit for the vintage. A little short now, but will open nicely with age. Best after 2012
