91 points Wine Spectator: "Supersupple and as opulent as Pinot gets. There's mega-plum, lemon-spiked acidity, cassis and black cherry character, remaining lively and vibrant on the palate, with a minerally note. Turns a bit tannic on the finish. Best from 2003 through 2010." (05/99) 91-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr '98: "Excellent deep red-ruby. Gamey black cherry nose reminded me of a rare steak; real grand cru finesse. Large-scaled, supple and voluminous; muscular but not hard. Lovely ripe acids. Really opens nicely in the mouth. From the Pinot Fin, which comes through in the wine's finesse and suave tannins."
