90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Redcurrant and strawberry aromas are complemented by smoky herbs and dried flowers. Juicy and light on its feet, offering sweet red berry and bitter cherry flavors and good peppery cut. Quite understated and Old World in style, with very good finishing sweetness and a lingering floral note." (May/June 10) This is the first vintage for this appellation Pinot Noir from Eric Kent, and it's a great introduction to this up-and-coming producer. Fun and easy to drink, this is made predominantly from Windsor Oaks fruit (93%) with the remainder coming from the Cleary and Stiling vneyards. All red fruit on the nose, with a sweet toffee note. In the mouth the fruit is cherry, pomegranate and raspberry-like with hints of cola and cinnamon. But lest you think this is a fruit bomb, there are some lovely, integrated tannins and touch of earth that kick in on the finish.
