This wine is serious even in a lighter year. It exhibits some high quality toasty new oak, a dense ruby/purple color, and sweet, medium to full-bodied, concentrated flavors redolent with notes of olive, black currant and pain grille. (RP)
Still opulent and attractive, this offers milk chocolate and blackberry aromas. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a rich, soft finish. Polished tannins. A little more bottle age will soften it, but this is always delicious.—'89/'99 Bordeaux blind retrospective (2009). Web-Only 2010 (JS)
