92-94 points Stephen Tanzer: "Pungent botrytized aromas of apricot, pineapple, orange zest and licorice, lifted by floral high tones. Dense, spicy and thick on the palate, offering superb purity of fruit framed and lifted by ineffable spicy and minty high tones. Not a particularly fat or powerful style; in fact, the perfectly integrated acidity gives shape to the middle palate and extends the finish, which displays late botrytis notes of barley sugar and honey. A beauty in the making: I tasted the final blend, but the wine will not be bottled until September." (08/10) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Raymond Lafon has retained its Alsace-inspired bouquet, but it is just a little subdued at this showing with honey, mandarin, oyster shell and lime leaf. The palate is very well balanced with racy acidity, notes of dried honey, mandarin, quince and barley sugar, almost straight-laced and foursquare on the cooking apple tinged finish. This is a very fine Sauternes that should age gracefully. Drink 2011-2025." (04/10) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Rich but nicely focused, with bright tangerine, white peach and creamed melon notes and a long, golden raisin-tinged finish. Round and very flattering. Drink now through 2022." (08/11) K&L's notes: * Fat and lush-tons of botrytis. Ralph: * Good richness. Fat and nice palate impression.
