Elegant, clean, transparent and very pure red berry, earth and light spice character, all of which continue onto the rich, sweet, full and utterly delicious flavors that possess the best balance and depth of the group as well as the best length. A really lovely effort where the only nit is a trace of backend warmth, which I attribute less to the alcohol than the impressive transparency.
Full red-ruby. Sappy aromas of black cherry, crystallized raspberry and mint. In a distinctly sweet and inviting style, less earthy and smoky than the Cerise-and, in its emphasis on primary fruits, less complex today. Finishes with juicy acidity and dusty, building tannins. This was the first pinot harvested in 2005.
