The enormously-endowed, inky/purple-colored 2005 Petite Sirah reveals notes of incense, spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, and a subtle touch of pepper. This massive red is surprisingly civilized and silky-textured. Although accessible, it should easily last for 15-20 years. (RP)
Deep ruby. Utterly primary aromas of crushed blackberry and kirsch Then almost surprisingly sweet and broad, with a nutty element complicating its powerful dark fruit and floral flavors. A huge, thick wine that finishes with big but thoroughly ripe tannins and terrific lingering sweetness. (ST)
Sturdy and solid, with wild berry, cherry, spice and floral notes that explode into more layers of tobacco, cedar, licorice and black tea flavors midpalate. Dense tannins give this good structure. (JL)
