The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon is cut from the same mold as the profound 1996, displaying astonishing levels of black fruits (the usual suspects - blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and cassis), phenomenal concentration, and virtually perfect balance and equilibrium.
Opaque ruby-red. Fruity, expressive aromas of black raspberry, nuts and fresh herbs; distinctly cooler than the '97 and '96. Velvety and sweet in the mouth, with an extraordinarily lush texture for the vintage. Extremely harmonious from the outset, with nicely integrated acidity and sweet, slow-to-build tannins. Great finishing fruit. Production here fell sharply beginning with this vintage because of replanting.
One of the more pleasant and complex aromas, with currant, cherry and vanilla. It's a bit drier on the palate, with shades of red currant, anise, sage and cedar. Tilts toward dry, mouthcoating tannins on the finish. (Web-2005)
