Crimson and some evolution. Lively, elegant, old-fashioned Margaux. A bit of tannin left. (5/2008 & 4/2004)
...this medium-bodied wine exhibits a moderately garnet color and a sweet nose of dusty red fruits intermixed with some balsam wood, Provencal herbs, and damp earth, perhaps even mushrooms. The wine is pleasing on the attack, but then becomes increasingly compressed and attenuated.
Toasty wood, with coffee and ripe fruit on the nose. Full-bodied, with lots of fruit and wood. Medium, chewy finish. Needs a little time to soften. (Web 2007)
