Justin’s flagship offering, the unfiltered 2001 Isosceles Reserve (73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec), boasts a blockbuster perfume of incense, black currants, spice, flowers, and subtle wood. Voluptuous in the mouth, with tremendous fruit purity, a beautiful, multi-layered texture, and a long finish, this terrific offering is about as good as Bordeaux varietals can be in this sector of California’s Central Coast. Although accessible, this tour de force in winemaking will drink well over the next 10-15 years. (RP)
