Good medium red. Complex, rather Burgungian aromas of strawberry, raspberry, rose petal and earth, with hints of smoke and sandalwood. At once silky and juicy in the mouth, with enticing red fruit flavors framed by ripe acidity and complicated by smoke and earth. This rather delicate pinot finishes with suave tannins and good grip. A steal at the price. (ST)
An overtly ripe and slightly macerated nose of slightly jammy dark cherry and plum aromas gives way to agreeably rich, concentrated and utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent depth, balance and length. Readers should note that this benefitted enormously from extended aeration, in particular in the area of complexity so be sure to allow at least an hour and preferably 2 to 3 if you're going to try one young.
The 2010 Pinot Noir is a ridiculous wine for the money. A burst of dark red fruit, flowers, spices and licorice are some of the notes that burst from the glass in this juicy, totally enjoyable Pinot. This is one of the very finest Pinots being made anywhere in the world at this price point. Kudos to Thomas Rivers Brown for making a delicious Pinot at a very fair and friendly price. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. (AG)
