*Two Stars* Keen and concentrated ripe-cherry fruit governs all aspects of this deeply drawn youngster, yet the wine is far more than 'fruity,' and its inviting sense of succulence is matched by a bit of oaky complexity and fine, enlivening acidity. It may not be an especially nuanced Pinot just yet, but it has the vigor and depth to grow past its delectable juiciness and into an increasingly interesting wine.
Bright ruby-red. Explosively perfumed aromas of candied red berries, rose and woodsmoke, with a spicy overtone. Juicy, penetrating red and dark berry flavors provide excellent palate coverage and show a seamless character. Open-knit and delicious now, finishing with excellent thrust and clarity. (ST)
Although this wine is easy to drink now, it shows the Williams Selyem signature of complexity and balance. Delicious in raspberry, cherry and cola fruit, it has crisp acidity and a sweet coat of oak. It’s a blend of several vineyards from which the winery sources fruit.
This exhibits a mix of dense, rich raspberry and wild berry that evokes classic Russian River Valley Pinot, running deep and persistent on the long, full finish. (JL)
The 2010 Pinot Noir Eastside Road Neighbors is one of the more immediate wines in this range. A burst of dark red fruit, cola, sweet spices and hard candy bursts from the glass in an exuberant, fruit-driven style that is best appreciated sooner rather than later. The 2010 is quite pretty and should continue to drink nicely for a handful of years. (AG)
