A rare find and an incredible price! Fruit from the famed Herb Lamb Vineyard, planted in 1987--the same fruit that goes into cult wines from Karl Lawrence and Colgin Cellars and made by Mike Trujillo of Karl Lawrence--but for far, far less than those wines currently sell for. The 2003 vintage, according to Trujillo, is "The year of finesse, as wines from this vintage as a whole are not as muscular as the 2002. The cooler 2003 vintage brings out the blueberry and lighter red fruits in the E II, but there is still a great concentration and intensity of flavors and colors." This wine usually takes a few years in bottle to integrate and really show its stuff, and it should be drinking beautifully now. Only 101 cases produced.
