Wow. So much intensity of fruit here, with crushed blackberries, blueberries and sandalwood. Like looking down a black hole. Full-bodied, with ultra-velvety tannins and a long, long finish. Chewy, but caressing and gorgeous. Best ever from here. Great value! Try in 2018.
This is pure pleasure, a hedonistic St.-Emilion fruit bomb with oodles of black cherry and black currant fruit as well as hints of sandalwood and underbrush. It is opulent, unctuous and loaded with fruit, glycerin and most of the earthly pleasures one associates with wine. This full-bodied La Fleur may well be the best wine they have ever produced. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. (RP)
Bright ruby-red. Aromas of black cherry, plum and mocha. Supple, fine-grained and deeply fruity, with a lightly medicinal cast to the concentrated black cherry and chocolate flavors. Boasts a liqueur-like sweetness without coming across as roasted or heavy. Finishes with big, ripe tannins, a slightly high-toned quality and very good length. A superb vintage for this chateau, and probably best suited for drinking over the next 10 or 12 years. (ST)
Firm tannins support dark flavors of espresso, chocolate and smoke in this savory red. The chewy texture softens into the graceful finish, with cola and mint notes. Drink now through 2018. (TM, Web-2012)
