The limited production (fewer than 100 cases) 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature is meant to represent the finest lots as chosen by proprietor and winemaker, Todd Anderson. An impressively saturated ruby/purple color is followed by gorgeously expressive aromas and flavors of blueberries, blackberries and cassis fruit that fill the mouth and coat the palate with no hard edges or heaviness. The wood component is completely obscured by the wine’s lavish, extravagant ripeness and richness. Fine-tuned, precise, full-bodied and pure, it represents the greatness of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. While approachable, it will not hit its stride for another 4-5 years, and should last two to three decades. (RP)
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature (formerly Black Label) appears to be going through a bit of an awkward phase at the moment where the tannins and acidity are dominating over the fruit. Sweet floral and spiced notes emerge, but only with great reluctance. There is plenty of intensity in the glass, but readers need to give the 2010 at least a handful of years in bottle before the wine's deeply expressive, compelling personality is on full display.
