Rich, dense and structured, this Barolo has it all. Cherry, tobacco, licorice and spice notes vie for attention, while the supple texture, vibrant acidity and refined tannins hold it all together. There's terrific length on the fruit-, mineral- and spice-tinged finish. Best from 2014 through 2029.
Abbona’s 2006 Barolo Pressenda is fresher and more floral than the Ravera. Violets, dark cherries, minerals and cinnamon are some of the nuances that emerge from this elegant, polished Barolo. Here, too, the wine is endowed with a gorgeous sense of harmony and proportion. The finish is long and beautifully articulated. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (AG)
The Barolo Pressenda opens with bold, black aromas of toasted hazelnut, crushed granite, prunes, plums and smoky barbecue sauce. That thick intensity follows through to the mouth where the wine shows concentration and a tight, dense style: Hold for five to ten years.
