93 points Neal Martin's Wine Journal: "The 1990 Beaucastel is still very youthful with an ebullient, cassis-driven bouquet that flourishes with aeration, secondary aromas of bacon fat and wild mushroom, later dried blood, bubbling up to the surface with time. The palate is full-bodied with fleshy, yet there is patently good backbone underneath all that precocious fruit that is neatly counterbalanced by the acidity. It has a sweet finish that remains youthful and it is not as bretty as other bottles I have encountered. Delicious. Tasted January 2013."
