Rarely restrained and never timid, the wines of Darioush are typically unstinting in richness, and this one shows the indelible family stamp. It is very deep and absolutely brimming with juicy, black cherry fruit, and is broadly sweetened with caramelly oak. And, while it is a touch hot and undeniably ripe, it never threatens to be too much of a good thing. It is, in fact, pretty well-balanced for the weighty, comparatively plush wine that it is. It is not built with an eye to twenty years in the cellar, but its structure ensures a half decade of positive growth at the least.
