GOOD VALUE Pinot Noir of this quality priced at $40.00 or less is a rare find these days, and it serves as an important reminder that not every high-achieving effort necessarily comes with a single-vineyard designation. It hits all the right varietal marks and sports especially fine balance with an irresistible freshness and fruity buoyancy that invite drinking without hesitation. Still, for all of its tempting immediacy, it has the depth and tight structure of a serious wine sure to repay aging, and, while we would not refuse a glass if offered right now, we plan on hiding our own bottles away for no fewer than another three to five years.
Perhaps the lightest Pinot in the producer’s lineup, and the most readily accessible, this is fresh and fruity. Highlighted in strawberry and cherry, it retains a tension of black tea and earth. Silky on the palate, it finishes as lightly as it started.
