The 2011 Quarzo appears to have even more concentration and depth than the 2010, at least today. A rich, powerful wine, the 2011 remains an infant. Expressive savory and floral notes begin to make an appearance, but only with great reluctance. This is another wine best buried in a cold corner of the cellar for at least another few years.
A rich, gutsy effort, intensely flavored, with firm tannins wrapped around a core of dense dark berry, mineral, black licorice, leather, cedar and fresh-turned earth. Drink now through 2024. 370 cases made.
