An expressive, even airy nose of mostly tertiary aromas nuanced by spice, leather and smoked game hints lead to nicely rich medium weight flavors that are still firm if no longer structured, all wrapped in a mildly chewy and punchy finish. At this point in its evolution, this is actually one of the better balanced '55s around...
Amazingly, still very much alive - and still a tad severe. But the vineyard will out. You can really taste that this is a de Vogüé Musigny with great structure and line. Not that much flesh to speak of but a fine intellectual challenge for a taster. 17/20 points
