K&L Notes

In the region of Cariñena, the Garnacha grape variety finds a lovely expression, one which is less high octane and lighter on its feet than in some of the neighboring regions. This easy drinker is a terrific bargain for anyone looking for a house red or a wine for a celebration.

This ridiculously affordable little Garnacha (Grenache) is loaded with vivid red berries. Sily soft tannins coat the palate, supported by refreshing acidity and a subtle anise-y kick on the finish. This is an impressive bottle to pair with lighter tapas, but it has the right profile (and its inexpensive enough) to serve as the perfect Sangria starter.

This great little bargain of a grenache has bright, red fruits, supple tannin and lovely balance. A really good go to as a party wine that will match up very well with most foods.

One of the best values for sure! An easy drinking, fruit-driven wine. Herbal overtones on the nose, bursting with ripe berry and plum fruit typical of Garnacha. Soft and round on the palate with gentle, well-integrated tannins making it suitable to be enjoyed while young. Lingering red fruit flavors on the finish. A great wine for tomato based pasta dishes, cold cut platters and mixed tapas.

Whenever I recommend this wine, people can't believe it would be that good for only $7.99...but it is!!! This party perfect red is full bodied with classic garnacha aromatics of cherry, strawberry and rhubarb. Whether its your house red or party pounder, this grenache is sure to deliver while keeping the pocketbooks full.

Effortlessly enjoyable, the 2014 Monseran is the party wine par excellence. The nose displays brambly, juicy, berry-fruit aromatics, which lead into a light bodied, low tannin wine. On the palate, the fruit bends towards the red side of the spectrum, with strawberry, raspberry, and rhubarb flavors, subtly accented by notes of anise and dry spice. This wine will be equally happy flying solo as a cocktail wine, or getting friendly with a smorgasbord of dishes.
