Oh to have neighbors like these, bringing together several vineyard sites along this coveted stretch of the appellation. This bottling shows full-bodied richness and minerality dotted in a rose garden of pretty aromas and flavors. It's the silky-smooth texture that's most memorable, accented in earthy black tea and subtle oak tones. *Editors' Choice* (VB)
Pale to medium ruby colored, the 2014 Pinot Noir Westside Neighbors reveals aromas of raspberry leaves, Bing cherries, lavender and fragrant earth with a waft of potpourri. The palate is beautifully harmonious with soft, silky tannins and a refreshing line of acid, finishing fine and elegant. (LPB)
The 2014 Pinot Noir Westside Road Neighbors is juicy, forward and beautifully open-knit. Although not especially complex, the Westside Road Neighbors offers lovely fleshiness as well as considerable near to medium-term appeal, all in the racy, fruit-driven style that is so typical of the Russian River. A brooding and quite somber nose only grudgingly offers up notes of plum, black currant and dark raspberry. The solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors have a highly seductive and caressing mouth feel yet the focused, mildly austere and well-delineated finish does not lack for punch and persistence. This is presently quite tightly wound and should also definitely repay a few years of bottle age.
