The Republic of Georgia has one of the world's oldest winemaking traditions. Located at the foot of the Caucasian mountains in the Alazani Valley, Kakheti is Georgia's most famous winemaking region, where about 80% of production takes place. The semi-sweet red from the indigenous Saperavi grape has a bit of natural residual sweetness with deep aromatics; it is soft but not sticky. A perfect accompaniment to farmhouse cheeses.
