Lots of minerals and stones here. Full-bodied with phenolic tension and lime, lemon and chalk flavors. Layered and joyous. Just the right lees stirring. Why wait? Drink now.
This second wine comes from both La Mission Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion white parcels. This is a fine and ripe while also showing an herbal character. Citrus and yellow fruits work in harmony. (RV)
This has a flattering, creamy feel, with lemon curd and creamed yellow apple notes gilded by honeysuckle, fennel and verbena flavors. Light kiwi and green plum tones add range through the finish, which sports a broad swath of salted butter. Best from 2019 through 2027. (JM)
The 2015 La Clarté de Haut-Brion is soft, open-knit and wonderfully expressive. Scents of peach, apricot and white pepper meld together in an effortless, totally gracious white that will drink well early. This is a strong showing from the Clarté, Haut-Brion's second white wine. (AG)
This is effectively a combined second wine of Chateau Haut-Brion Blanc and La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, which prior to 2009 was known as Les Plantiers du Haut-Brion. A blend of 27% Sauvignon Blanc and 73% Semillon and redolent of ripe peaches, pink grapefruit and baking bread with touches of orange blossoms and crushed stones, the intense, satiny textured 2015 La Clarté de Haut-Brion Blanc offers up a lively palate laced with mineral accents and finishing with impressive persistence. (LPB)
Very sweet Sémillon nose - almost honey! A hint of cat - very mineral. The Sémillon is all on the nose at the moment and the palate seems dominated by Sauvignon character. Lots to chew on. 17.5/20 points.
