If you already know what Mike Officer does, and the style of his wines, you won’t be disappointed in his 2014s. You may even like them as much as any vintage, given the fact that this year shows a lot of up-front fruit and charm. (RP)
The 2014 Zinfandel (Dry Creek) is dark, succulent and super-expressive. All the elements meld together in an effortless, radiant Zinfandel bursting at the seams with personality. This is an unusually polished Zinfandel for Dry Creek, not to mention a total knock-out from Carlisle. In this vintage, the Zinfandel and Petite Sirah (11%) were co-fermented. (AG)
Captures the heart of what Dry Creek Zinfandel is all about. Graceful, seductive and richly complex, with accents of plump raspberry, sassafras, sweet anise and freshly cracked pepper. Drink now through 2026. 410 cases made. (TF)
Combining fruit from two different ranches, as well as 11% Petite Sirah from another site, this fulsome, sultry wine broods in blackberry, vanilla and coconut, presenting itself as friendly if buxom. Broadly appealing, it's full bodied and yet restrained in terms of oak, allowing the fruit to sing. (VB)
