Tasting Notes

Invigorating and fresh, with lemony citrus aromas and flavors accented by delicate white flowers. The palate is full and fresh, with balanced acidity and minerality on the finish. This a style of wine that keeps your palate fresh and alive. Although easy to drink, it has complexity and intrigue up and down the aromatic and palate. You'll want another after the first one has disappeared. (Eric Story, K&L Loire buyer)

Aromas of lilies, lime zest, lemon juice, and crushed rocks. On the palate, flavors of lime zest once more, with both lemon and lime juice notes. Zippy, crisp, and refreshing with a noted minerally finish. Classic Sancerre. Think shellfish with this; preferably scallops. This with scallops in a sorrel cream sauce, delicious!

There is a real sense of ease to the 2015 vintage. It has a juicier, sunnier disposition than some of the lean, stony and green Sancerres. That said, it is still recognizably of Sancerre, yielding cantaloupe, lemon and wet stone aromas, and flavors that run to powdery florality, melon, orange, tomato leaf and red jalapeno. A dusting of minerality brings up the rear, playing a subsidiary role here, as does the acidity, which, while ample enough, isn't the first and last thing you notice, instead underpinning the gently radiant, diaphanous tranquillity of the summer-ready flavors. Grab some while you can!

I always love the Cottat Sancerre, this vintage it has a wonderful balance of fruit and minerality. Aromas of flint, white flowers and yellow Mirabelle plums burst from the glass to lead you into an elegant palate of crushed stone, orange blossom and lemon peel with juicy acidity.
