The scrumptious 1997 Chambolle-Musigny Les Hauts Doix is medium-to-dark ruby-colored and exhibits licorice, violet, as well as candied blackberry aromas. This highly concentrated, expressive, and sultry wine is oily-textured, medium-to-full-bodied, and dense. Moreover, wave after wave of soft, plump black fruits and herbs are found in its chewy, yet refined personality. (PR)
Bright red-ruby. Wild aromas of raspberry, espresso, mocha and animal fur; rather syrah-like. Superb sweetness and velvety texture, but slightly reduced. Offers wonderful fat but doesn't show quite the verve of the '97 Gevrey villages from Groffier. (ST)
