The new vintage of Viura (with a touch of Garnacha Blanca, Malvasia, and Chenin Blanc) from Bodegas Puelles is dry and refreshing, with an interplay of citrus, orchard, and minerality that resembles closer to something like Chablis than traditional Rioja Blanca. Bright lemon, crunchy apples, subtle chalkiness, and zippy acidity. This drinks like many wines twice its price, and would be an incredible stealth pairing with the fanciest of seafood.
